2012: Hollywood's End?

I think that the prediction of the world ending in 2012 is wrong. It’s not the world…it’s just Hollywood!

Yesterday, as I was reading the webcomic, Dueling Analogs, I read the following:

Now as far as Dig Dug Asteroids as a movie. What the hell? Are you telling me that Hollywood is so hard up for movie ideas that a thirty year old game arcade game is one of the few viable option?

Wondering if this were true, I decided to check IMDB for it. Asteroids is listed for release in 2012, but there was nothing more about it. No information on what it’s about or anything. So, I searched Google for “Asteroids movie”, only to find out that it actually IS true. They are making a movie based off of that old Atari game. How can you make a movie out of it, seriously? It was a game made up of white lines, and really have NO story. You know before any information is released, the movie is going to ruin the game because they’ll have to add some sort of story, real actors and all, when anyone who knows of the game knows that there is no real story to it or anything.

So, when it was predicted that the world will end in 2012, I think that was a little over-exaggerated. It’s just Hollywood that’ll end because of these really stupid ideas. Movies based off of games usually suck ass because they’re all wrong, but you know a movie is going to be completely wrong when they based a movie off of a game with NO story at all.

Another movie I heard about yesterday was Stretch Armstrong. Why a movie about that old toy? Most kids would stretch him as far as possible to see how much abuse it could take because breaking and oozing that liquid stuff. What’s more amusing is who I’ve read is starring as Stretch. It’s that guy who played Jacob in Twilight. That’s hilarious. He’s going to go from being a “hunk” in females’ eyes, to a complete fucking joke after playing a character like that. It’s gonna be a great laugh! I’ve read on one site that Stretch Armstrong is coming out April 2011. That’s not too far away if that’s true.

I’m going to have to see what other movies are coming out that will be a complete joke.
