Scammed or not?

I really have no idea what is happening with Robin at the moment. Earlier, she was e-mailing me alot, and we have about 10 emails going back and forth in which she was continuing to ask for money, sent via Western Union. I tried to explain several times that I don't have £347. She continued to ask though, saying I should pay via credit card and all. I don't understand why though. I wish she would trust me on it when I say I don't have £347 because I honestly don't. All I own in terms of cash is £20. Continuing to ask for £347 isn't going to make it suddenly appear in my bank or something.

After several times of explaining I can't get the cash, as much as I'd like to help, she stopped talking to me. This is when I started to wonder if this is all just a scam to get cash out of me. That's how it's feeling currently. Constantly asking for cash, then going totally silent because she can't get the cash from me. I ended up bluntly asking her if she was for real or is just after cash. I sent a follow up e-mail to that one explaining why I would feel like that. I explained that if you were talking with someone alot, seeming like an amazing person, then asking for cash constantly, and when you can't get it, stop talking...that person is going to get the feeling you're just after their cash.

What are my readers opinions on this? Several friends of mine think it's just a scam to get cash out of me, although a couple hope for my sake that it isn't because it would be nice to see me with someone...and I'm starting to think it is too since she's not saying a word to me for about 10 hours now.
