Pet cat is shot dead

More Animal Cruelty news, this time taken from the Cornish Times.

THE owner of a cat shot with an airgun is appealing for information about the death of her pet.
Beryl Kitto, who lives in the Woodgate Road area of Liskeard, found her three-year-old cat, Kitty, lying dead in her neighbour's drive.
She said: 'When I came back from walking my dog I found her on my neighbour's drive.
'I turned her over and saw there was a hole.
'This is deliberate. I am shocked. How could someone do this?'
Ms Kitto took Kitty to a vet in Liskeard, but nothing could be done to save the cat. It isn't the first time the town has seen an incident of this nature.
Last year Luxstowe Vets, Liskeard, dealt with several incidents of cats being shot.
Lydie Houre-Van Riet from Luxstowe Vets said: 'Gunshot wounds in cats are too frequent an occurence.
'We spend our lives trying to make animals better, having to deal with deliberate injuries to animals is always upsetting.
'I cannot express enough how distressing this mindless violence is, not just for the injured animals and their owners, but for everyone involved with the care of these patients.'
