Death Trades

After reading the status updates for the Foamy The Squirrel : iLL WiLL PrEss fan page on Facebook, I got to wondering what would be worth trading to Death in exchange for certain things.

Ok, Hypothetical: Death is in a good mood and he'll trade you ONE Dead Musician in exchange for a full band currently living, but doesn't care for Disney... because being a Disney child is a fate worse than death.... who do you pick?

I never answered this status because I really couldn't think of any singer or band that was deceased that I actually liked. However, after looking through the many comments, there was one singer that I loved listening to who died in a plane crash. Aaliyah. Who would I trade for her? I would have to say any rapper, or Justin Bieber. I've never liked rap in general, and people like Justin are really annoying. He's just a kid, and people obsess over him. Why? What is the big deal!?

Hypothetical 2: Death hates TV & misses good shows. He allows you to pick one show who's cast and crew will be obliterated in exchange for the return of one of your favorite shows. The catch is, he does not consider Reality TV/Game shows/Competitive Reality to be valid forms of entertainment... what do you pick?

I actually answered this one. I stated that I would trade Pokemon or any of it's many clones for the continuation of the 90s computer animated show, ReBoot. This show was one of my favorite cartoons in the 90s, and it was canceled just as the enemy were taking over the Principle Office. Why cancel it at that point? I've never really understood why a show will always get canceled at the exact moment the show gets extremely interesting.

However, thinking about the question now, there are a lot of shows I would like to see on TV again. I would trade everything that currently exists on TV for things like Terminator:The Sarah Connor Chronicles, ReBoot, Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, X-Files when it used to be good, Earthworm Jim, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Kenny Everett (I know he's dead, but I'd love for him to be around still and performing), and many other shows I can't think of currently.

TV now is just so dull. I actually never watch TV anymore since the countless reality shows, as well as the countless clones of things like Pokemon, have pretty much killed TV in my mind. My TV is only ever used for video games now because there is really nothing worth watching. The sad thing is, things will never change because there are millions of people who constantly watch reality TV. As long as that stuff remains popular, it's never going to end.

Honestly, movies are starting to go the same way. There is rarely anything original in the movies now. They're all remakes, unnecessary sequels, and movies based off of comics, TV shows, cartoons, video games etc. Is it really so hard to come up with an original idea?
