After reading a couple of comments posted in an entry titled Tesco announces its sight is set on Looe, I'm going to assume that locals were asked for their opinions about a Tesco being built in Looe; and that a lot of them, like Mom's boyfriend, thought it was a good idea.
I guess in the end, a lot of people are fine with it and don't mind the entire thing. However, I still think that it's not going to be any good for the schools. With those 100+ houses being built as well as the Tesco, the schools are more than likely going to have to close down in order to be enlarged for the likely increase in students. If that happens, are people really going to be completely fine with the Tesco? Are they really going to want to take their kids to schools in Plymouth, or where-ever else they're going to have to take them?
Sure, it's not a definite that the schools will close, but I'm thinking that it's very likely due to the 100+ houses.
The new road it probably going to make driving around this area hellish too. Not a definite, but likely.
I guess, if it's passed, that we'll just have to wait and see what happens. Nothing else you can really do about it if some people think it's a great idea.
